Abstract

The bachelor's thesis is focused on the design and implementation of automatic feeding of casting granules in the operation of continuous steel casting. The fourth industrial revolution marks the current trend of simplifying work by introducing automation in an industrial environment. The automatic feeding of the casting granulate to the crystallizer is crucial for the surface quality of the preform and the reduction of friction in the crystallizer. Uneven application of the casting granulate increases the risk of surface defects and increases the risk of rupture of the casting crust or the formation of a crack in the preform. Automatic feeding of the casting granulate guarantees lower consumption of granulate. The aim of the bachelor's thesis is to compare the current possibilities of automatic feeding of granulate, to design a suitable device and to describe the integration into the existing ZPO technology.
