Abstract

The objective of my bachelor’s work elaborated on the theme Processing of wastewaters occurring during partial oxidation of vacuum residue within Unipetrol RPA company was to discover sufficient method that would guarantee elimination of unsuitable substances from wastewaters while keeping existing technology under which the wastewaters are produced. Elimination of these substances fulfils legal requirements and procedures put on industrial wastewaters. Literary research is focused on elimination processes of unsuitable substances from wastewaters containing sulphides, cyanides and heavy metals. There are described methods used abroad and within Unipetrol RPA company. Practical part is focused on detoxication method of wastewaters with pure oxygen. Reduction of sulphides and cyanides was monitored in dependence on the amount of used oxygen and in dependence of heat and time. By laboratory tests it was proved that in wastewaters sulphides and cyanides oxidised to sulphates and carbonic acid gas but there also occurred oxidation of vanadium which until now was in insoluble form.
