Abstract

This Diploma Thesis main task is to propose/design and setup the electrical protections for substation R22kV for the Thermal plant Karvina, member of Dalkia CZ group. The introduction of the Thesis describes fully the Substation Karvina R 22 kV itself by range of functions, installed instrumentation, using and regulation. All this proposed in original/old design of the protection. Next Thesis chapter deals with the issues regarding the theory of protection, mainly with sorting of the protections, as well as with the necessary data inputs, to setup the protections correctly. The Main part describes as follows: The new protections selection, their functions, their behaviour standards and the main calculation for each outlet of the R22 kV substation is in this Main part of the Thesis included. These calculations are here sustained by schematics of each maximal and minimal short-connection currents arrangements. In the next chapter, Thesis describes the operation rules and controlling schedules of the protections. This is resulting to the Substation user recommendation list, how often to provide the described control plan. In the Final chapter, there is Total technical overview statement, for each chosen protection and the complete list of Parameters to be necessary to set up, for each outlet of the R 22 kV substation, from Thermal Plant Karvina.
