Abstract
Dissertation is focused on evaluation of operational parameters that influence heat transfer during continuous casting of steel. The examined part of casting machine is area of primary cooling that consists of mould with inner square cross section. The evaluated operational parameters are steel carbon content, casting velocity, steel superheat, casting powder and other such as mould wear and type of casting. Impact of mentioned parameters is examined on heat flow density and a vertical temperature profile of mould, specific steel heat withdrawal, blank surface temperature and blank temperature axis in mould. In order to approximate vertical temperature profile of mould wall, it was proposed to use dependency of mould wall temperature on steel residence time in mould. Proposed approach was later used for creation of criteria to obtain distribution of heat flux via each mould wall. Conclusions and findings as well as used methods were used for creation of computer application. Created application can provide help with analysis of measured data from continuous casting and also can help to predict vertical temperature profile of mould wall.
