Abstract

The aim of this bachelor's thesis is to assess the impact of globalization on the economic development of Germany and Greece in the period 2012–2025 and to explain the role of economic structure and institutional environment in their different development paths. The thesis is divided into a theoretical and a practical part. The theoretical part focuses on the definition of globalization, its development, and its main economic aspects. The practical part includes a comparative analysis of selected macroeconomic indicators such as GDP, economic growth, unemployment, foreign trade, and public debt. The analysis is based on secondary data from international institutions, mainly the World Bank, IMF, and Eurostat. Based on the results, conclusions are drawn regarding the different abilities of economies to benefit from globalization and adapt to its impacts.
