The subject of the thesis is to describe the development are put wind as a renewable source for electricity generation, its origins and especially today. Assessment and comparison with other sources of energy, whether fossil or other renewable sources and the environmental and economic indicators. The main part is briefly described the history of wind, the conditions for the construction of wind power plants, comparison of the economic indicators of various renewable energy sources and environmental impact. In conclusion, the assessment of all the facts available, the advantages, disadvantages of wind power and the conditions for their operation. Future of wind power in our country and the possibility of their further use in the energy mix.
