Abstract

Today the financial crisis is the topic which is reflected into the lives of individuals, companies and countries. The beginning of the financial crisis is a reflection of the mood on the U.S. mortgage market. In the next few months, the crisis is going to hit other sectors of U.S. economy and then surpass U.S. and spill over into global economies. The impact of the global financial crisis is reflected in particular slowdown in economic growth and wages, increasing unemployment, but also a slowdown in price growth. In Czech republic financial crisis showed in 2008 and in the beginning it´s most affected area was automotive industry, which includes the manufacturer's cars, trucks and car components manufacturer. This industry has a strong tradition in the Czech Republic, its territory was granted for many investment of foreign investors. The dissertation analyzes the impact of financial crisis on producers of passenger cars in Czech Republic for example, Škoda Auto, a.s. and is divided into three main chapters. The first chapter handles the theoretical aspects of financial crises, their origin, course and ultimately prevention, prediction. At the end of chapter there are displayed indicators of financial analysis to determine the impact of financial crisis on the company. Part two illustrates the evolution of the financial crisis in the years 2007 - 2009 since its inception in U.S. mortgage market. Continuing analysis of the impact of financial crisis on macroeconomic indicators in the U.S. and the EU. Furthermore, there is an analysis of macroeconomic indicators in Czech Republic, which was affected by events in the world. The third part is continueing of the previous chapters and examines the impact of financial crisis on producers of passenger cars in Czech Republic. Closely approaching the issue with Škoda Auto.
