Determinanty fertility v Evropské unii

Abstract

This master’s thesis analyzes the determinants of fertility in the European Union over the period 2003–2023. The aim of the thesis is to identify and examine key economic, sociodemographic, and institutional factors influencing reproductive behavior. The empirical analysis is based on panel data from 27 EU Member States and employs descriptive, comparative, and econometric methods. The results indicate that reproductive behavior is primarily influenced by the age at first birth, housing costs, and the level of economic development measured by GDP per capita. Other examined factors were not found to be statistically significant. The thesis highlights the importance of economic and demographic determinants in shaping reproductive behavior and may serve as a basis for further research or policy considerations in the field of family policy.
