Vývoj názorů na vznik a stavbu Českého středohoří

Abstract

The objective of work is to describe ideological shift in the issue of neovolcanism in area of České středohoří Mts. from dispute between neptunists and plutonists, through leaving dogmatic approach to science, up to applying plate tectonics theory on area of Eger rift. In the first part the essence of opinion about formation and evolution of Earth and disagreement of this opinions between neptunists and plutonists is defined. Next part is introducing research of scientists in 19. century highlighting activities of Josef Emanuel Hibsch for understanding the area of České středohoří Mts. The last part explains plate tectonics theory and its application on the area of Eger rift, which determinates the formation and structure of České středohoří Mts. It describes neovolcanic phases, petrography and presents researches of 21. century.
