Abstract

Developments related to the use of microalloy additions, especially of Ti, Nb, and V, and controlled processing are reviewed to the bachelor´s thesis. Reduced weight is the most important specificity final product. This development use for automotive industry, where reduced weight means reduced fuel consumption for car. The use of micro-alloyed steels and controlled procedures of forging allows us to increase the yield point by 50 % or more compared with conventional carbon - manganese steels.
