Abstract

From a macreconomic point of view, slope deformation are negative phenomenom. In addition to some of the most serious natural disasters like flooding and earthquakes, slope deformations are rank third due to their incurred damages and the financial cost in remediating their damages which has been growing through out the years. The studied area is located in the northern region (Ostrava Bartovice) and geologically belongs to the carpathian fordeep which composed mainly of stabilized or slightly fortified clays, sands and gravels. Ostrava is one of the cities undergoing intensive cold mining. As a result of this fact, the emergence of slope deformations are highly favourable. The area of interest has a an adverse geological and hydrogeological conditions with an adverse effect of mining subsidence which are the likely results of landslids. This thesis is focused on monitoring the current gradually changes in an active landslide with time and direction of movement and at the sametime measuring the groundwater levels form wells drilled in the locality. This boreholes were used for engineering – geological survay for the purpose of revitalization.
