Abstract

This thesis contains theoretical analysis of BLDC motors, their control schemes and a brief description of the DCC standard for controlling model railroads. The practical part contains description of the developed component. The component allows a standard locomotive DCC decoder to control a brushless DC motor instead of the original brushed DC motor using the block commmutation.
