Abstract

The bachelor thesis consists of two parts. The first part includes Chapters 2-5, which are dealing with the protection of economic competition from general view. The second part is then Chapter 6, where the theoretical knowledge is applied to practical examples. Chapter 2 is devoted to the basic concepts which we encounter in the field of antitrust law. Chapters 3-5 gradually deal with anticompetitive actions, which are regulated by Act No.143/2001 Coll., on the Protection of Economic Competition, as subsequently amended. It means the conclusion of prohibited (cartel) agreements, abuse of dominance and mergers between competitors, from the point of view of their principle, manifestations and impacts on competition. In Chapter 6, examples of these actions on the Czech and foreign market are presented and discussed. Several examples of the conclusion of agreements, abuse of dominance or mergers between competitors, the administrative procedures of these actions and subsequent evaluation by the Office for the Protection of Economic Competition or by other administrative authorities are described here.
