Abstract
The aim of the diploma thesis is to analyze the influence of human capital and its individual components on the economic level of African countries. The diploma thesis is written in the form of descriptive and comparative analysis. The practical part uses regression analysis and analysis of previous studies. Human capital is defined as a set of knowledge and skills that humans acquire during school education, work experience or other educational activities. The first part of the work is focused on human capital in the theory and empirics of economic growth. The second part is focused on the level of human capital in African countries. The last third part of the thesis is focused on the impact of human capital on the economic level of African countries. The results of the analysis confirmed the significant impact of human capital on the economic level of African countries. Within the individual components of human capital, the probability of survival of children under 5 years of age proved to be the most significant.
