Abstract

Problems of batch distillation of binary mixture are studied in this thesis. All experiments were carried out on new model apparatus, which is part of newly founded laboratory of process engineering at VSB- Technical University of Ostrava. Basic concepts of phase equilibrium, distillations apparatuses, and graphical method for binary distillation are summarized in theoretical part. Description of laboratory apparatus and carried experiments is held on next paragraph. Three topics, Separation efficiency of distillation column, Heat losses of apparatus and Dynamics of batch distillation process, was recognized as sufficiently describable and thus suitable as model problems for students of Laboratory of process engineering I and II.
