Abstract
This master's thesis focuses on expanding an existing microcomputer system by designing a universal Add-on card. This unit will be connected to the rest of the system by a series of connectors and will establish a communication interface between the current system and the power converter. The card is equipped with its own power supply section, input signals are routed through HDMI-type connectors, and output signals through a 25-pin D-SUB-type connector. The core of the board is a field programmable gate array from Intel, which ensures communication with the master microcontroller using a 16-bit data bus. These data are then redistributed to output connectors. Simultaneously, it receives status signals from the power converter and forwards them to the master microcontroller.
This thesis covers the complete development process, from the design of circuit schematics and component selection, through the manufacturing and assembly of the printed circuit board to the programming and practical verification of the system's functionality.
