Abstract

The master thesis deals with the concept of replacement of shut-off butterfly valves at the Nedre Vinstra hydroelectric power plant in Norway. The work is divided into theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part describes the current state of the hydroelectric power plant and specifies the problems arising from the operation of shut-off butterfly valves located behind the balancing chamber. The practical part aims to create a proposal for a technical solution of new shut-off butterfly valves, including expansion joint, based on defining the necessary input parameters according to the requirements of the power plant operator. The requirements for the actual production of the proposed structure are based on the developed design.
