The aim of the thesis is to evaluate the potentially existing link between the housing and crime in Slovakia and Czech Republic. The work also aims to confirm or refute the chosen hypothesis that the most crime is in rental apartments. The work is systematically divided into five chapters, the first is the introduction and the last conclusion. The second chapter is devoted to the basic concepts. Terms such as the function and form of housing, social aspects of housing, the development of housing policy in each country and crime are defined. The third chapter includes the basic indicators of housing and crime, which are needed to evaluate their relationship. The chapter includes a theoretical part but also collected statistical data. The fourth practical chapter contains an analysis of the relationship between the segments of housing and crime.
