Abstract

The Bachelor thesis deal focuses on the issue of regional disparities in NUTS 2 regions with agglomeration of capital cities of the EU-28.

The aim of the thesis is the evaluation and comparison of regional disparities in NUTS 2 regions with agglomeration of capital cities of the EU-28 for the reference period 2000 to 2013 using selected indicators of EU cohesion policy based on the calculation of the modified Euclidean distance. The purpose of the thesis is also to highlight the non-comparability between different regions conurbations capitals in the EU-28 within their inclusion in units NUTS 2 in terms of size, population and influence peripherals.
