Abstract

The main aim of this thesis is to evaluate the utilisation of grants from the Regional Operational Programme Moravia Silesia. It is focused on the priority axis 2 - Support for the prosperity of the region. Furthermore it assesses how successful is financial allocation in Moravia Silesia Region. The thesis is divided into four major sections. The first two chapters deal with theories of EU regional policy, its objectives and instruments. They describe the financing of EU regional policy. The third chapter analyzes the states of utilisation in each district of the Moravia Silesia Region. It also contains the comparison how much of funds have been used in individual areas or sections of areas. The fourth chapter evaluates the success of implementation of Priority Axis 2, and offers recommendations that could improve the current situation.
