Abstract

The thesis deals with the evaluation of the impact of trade agreements on EU competitiveness. Currently, the EU is negotiating with the Canada and the US on a comprehensive trade agreement to eliminate tariff and non-tariff barriers. Trade agreements include a broad portfolio of areas, from goods to investment. It is about the largest centers of the world economy that affect the competitiveness of other countries. The thesis is divided into three chapters accompanied by an introduction and conclusion. The first chapter includes theoretical aspects of competitiveness. The second chapter covers the content of trade agreements CETA and TTIP. In the last chapter, an assessment of the impact according to econometric studies and the EU's competitiveness.
