Abstract
The topic of the thesis is sports funding in selected regions of the Czech and Slovak Republics. The aim of this thesis is to evaluate and compare funding of sports in the selected regions of the Czech and Slovak Republics in the period of 2009 - 2013. For the Czech Republic the regions selected are the Moravian-Silesian region, the Liberec region and the Zlin region; for the Slovak Republic it is Bratislava, Nitra and Trencin regions. Sports funding in these regions is evaluated based on chosen criteria, which are sports financing, organisational safeguarding of sports, legislation, and also from the perspective of SWOT analysis of the sports environment in the regions of the Czech and Slovak Republics.
