Abstract

This thesis presents the design and development of a library that extends the current EC Sim sim- ulation software, an internal tool used by ABB. In addition to simulating systems that manage the generation and distribution of electrical power on a ship, the library also enables the simula- tion of the ship’s monitoring and control systems. The main objective is to replace manual value forcing with dynamic process simulation in Software-in-the-Loop mode. Simplified fluid physics is implemented in all modules created within the library to enable the testing of closed-loop control systems.
