Socioekonomické disparity a rozvoj regionů NUTS 2 v Rakousku

Abstract

This work analyzes the evolution and current state of socio-economic disparities and the development of the Austrian regions NUTS 2. Regional disparities are a global phenomenon in the last decade. Regional disparities show the imbalance situation and may involve many areas. Austria is chosen deliberately. This state share borders with the Czech Republic and has a similar geographic, demographic and socio-economic characteristics. Austria is one of the most developed and richest countries in the world. But despite this fact in the Austrian NUTS 2 regions exist significant differences. Territorial units NUTS 2 in Austria representing the Land. The work explain sources of socioeconomic datas, basic concepts related to that issue and a general description of the characteristics of the Austrian Länder. The key chapter is an analysis of selected economic and social indicators. Balancing and reducing disparities is long-term problems. Each Land is different from each other geographically and in population structure. This fact has a significant effect on the development in the social and economic spheres. Significantly above the average in socially sphere are regions are Vorarlberg and Lower Austria. Economic leader of the country is Vienna and Salzburg. It is clear that the disparities between the Austrian federal states exist, but also can be seen trend in their reduction, which indicates a positive development in economic and social spheres.
