Abstract

Sport is undoubtedly part of life for everyone, whether it affects the active or passive. Sports includes multipurpose social phenomenon which can not be ignored relationship of sport to other areas of social activity. Pursuant to Act No. 115/2001 Coll. On the promotion of sports, creating a separate village in its scope conditions for sports, especially ensuring the development of sport for all, the preparation of sporting talent, including people with disabilities. Further provided construction, reconstruction, maintenance and operation of its sports facilities and provide sports activities for citizens. Municipalities within their competence checked efficient use of its sporting facilities and provide financial support to the sport from its budget. Cities are a major sports center for the region and certainly raised a number of top athletes, who achieved fame in the field of sports not only the city but also the whole Czech Republic and have traditionally been an important center for both individual and team sports. This means that there is a natural need and demand for sports and recreational possibilities for residents enjoyment. The dissertation work to analysis the ČEZ Arénu from point of view operation, be geared on issues, costs and economical in session 2004 – 2010. The analysis also touches on the concept of state support for sport in the Czech Republic. Some chapters of the dissertation work discusses the opportunities to develop sporting facilities for the citizens of Ostrava. The secondary objective, which is closely linked with the main objective is to compare the results of operations for the reporting period. For processing work has been used method of analysis, synthesis, method of interview and work with documents.
