Abstract

This thesis deals with design of an industrial filling line control system of Ni-Cd battery modules for Saft Ferak a.s. company. This design is elaborated in cooperation with Siemens company, Industry solutions division. The requierement is to automatize existing procedure of the battery filling process which is realized manually till now. Regarding characteristic of this task, its solution was based on the machine vision principle. Image of palette of the batteries is captured by smart industry camera VS723-2, evaluated in control system SIMATIC S7-300 and obtained coordinates of the batteries apertures are send into KUKA robotic manipulator via PROFIBUS-DP bus. This palletizing manipulator fills particular batteries by a filling head. The filling line is designed as an universal system for filling of great number of various kinds of batteries. The next demand for this automated system is realization of a HMI vizualization of filling process straight from the process and also realization of a SCADA vizualization on PC. Monitoring of current process values such as temperature and electrolyte level in storage tanks, controlling of palette conveyers, signalling of process status and others are important, too. Functional safety of the controlled process and safety of operators represent indivisible part of solution of this application.
