Abstract

This report about national and ethnic minorities is uncovering general view on the Norway which is touching common geographical, historical, and cultural factors. This work also maps origin of ethnics living in this area and contemporary problem of immigrants and ethnics minorities in Norway. The first chapter introduces above all more extensive view of the physical-geographical part of land. This chapter also includes information about natural conditions and interests like polar night or polar glare. Next part is dealing with socio-economic situation, politic reality and today form of state as a unit. The fourth part is focused on the biggest ethnic group living in Norway. This part describes where the Sámi people are demographical situated, what are their discretions and duties, where and how is Sámi parliament acting and we will learn something about their culture as well. Last thematic chapter investigates the situation of immigrants in Norway, reasons of migration, immigrants problems and current situation between minorities. In the end work summarizes main points of general investigation about national minorities and to recommend relevant interventions. The main theme of this report is under laid with color pictures of Sámi people and their parliament in the supplement.
