Průvodce po vybraných geoturistických lokalitách v okolí Almaty

Abstract

This bachelor's thesis examines the geotourism potential of the area surrounding the city of Almaty in southeastern Kazakhstan. The first part describes the natural conditions of the studied area — geology, geomorphology, hydrogeology, hydrology, climate, flora, and fauna. The second part is devoted to the historical development of the region from prehistory to the present, with emphasis on events that shaped the present-day form of Almaty. The core of the thesis is the selection and evaluation of thirteen geotourism sites, including Charyn Canyon, the Ile-Alatau and Altyn-Emel National Parks, Lakes Kaindy, Kolsai, Balkhash, and Issyk-Kul, the Ili River, and the K. I. Satpayev Geological Museum. The final section presents a proposed six-day excursion programme with a logistical and financial budget, intended primarily for students of the geosciences.
