Abstract
This bachelor thesis investigates the possibilities of thermal and catalytic pyrolysis of waste polyethylene. Catalytic pyrolysis over two different types of zeolites with different acidity was investigated. Industrial acidic zeolites TZM-25 and TZM-236 were used as catalysts. Pyrolysis of polyethylene samples were running at 500 °C with heating ramp 10 °C/min. The catalytic treatment of the organic vapours produced during pyrolysis was carried out in a reactor at 500 °C. The aim of this work was to determine influence of catalysts on yield of oil and gas obtained by catalytic pyrolysis. It was discovered, that using acidic catalyst enhances production of gases. From obtained data was found out, that using higher acidity catalyst (TZM-25) significantly improves aromatization (mainly BTEX), while the use of a less acidic catalyst (TZM-236) mainly promoted the production of light olefins.
