Abstract
The subject of this thesis is theory and detailed technical design of lighting system, calculations of artificial light and daylight, evaluation of energy consumption, potential energy savings by using modern technologies in three typical rooms and comparison with actual values. Intensity of artificial light is adjusted in accordance with amount of daylight entering the rooms and resulting significant energy saving is main reason for regulation of the artificial light.
This study further focuses on comparison between two energy-saving models: utilization of sophisticated control system and replacing current lighting systems with modern light sources. Proposed energy and financial savings introduced to an investor are only estimated values and real savings can probably lead to rapider return of investments.
