Abstract
Abstract
This diploma thesis deals with the comparison of three heats made of S355 steel forgings in terms of resistance to hydrogen embrittlement. The aim of this work was to find out the reason for the development of hydrogen embrittlement in the heat E64225. This heat was compared with two other heats of the same quality, but there were some differences in the steel production and heat treatment process for each heat. In order to assess the susceptibility of individual steel heats to hydrogen embrittlement, the resistance to hydrogen induced cracking was tested in which quantitative parameters of resistance to hydrogen embrittlement can be determined. The advantage of this type of test is to produce exactly the same type of cracks as observed in production. The second method of testing represented tensile tests on pre-hydrogenated samples. Detailed structure and fractographic analysis was performed after tests in all heats.
