Abstract

Influence of immigration on economic development Škrachová Ivona

The aim of this Bachelor Thesis entitled Influence of immigration on economic development is to assess the impact of immigration on economic development of receiving countries on the basis of theoretical background, empirical studies and descriptive analysis of OECD immigrants’ characteristics. The Bachelor Thesis in three concise chapters describe the theoretical background of the impact of migration on economic development, empirical studies on immigration and its impact on the economies of receiving countries and descriptive analysis of selected characteristics of immigrants in OECD countries. At the end the Bachelor Thesis summarizes all facts and concludes that immigration has positive rather than negative impact on economic development on the basis of the dominance of the positive impact of immigration on selected aspects of economic and identified major characteristics of immigrants.
