Abstract

The subject of the bachelor´s thesis is an elaboration of a part of the building "Railway Museum of Ostrava", in extent and content corresponding to a building project documentation. The propose building is located in Ostrava-Vítkovice closed to Vítkovice Railway Station. The project is based on a previous urban study within the scope of Studio Work III. The urban study task was a revitalization of the neglected railway staion and detailed architectural proposal within the scope Studio Work IV. Building reacts to the current situation of Vítkovice railway station. The aim of "Railway Muzeum of Ostrava" is to attract attention of passengers in trains, which pass the railway station Ostrava-Vítkovice, and show them, that the railway station is more then only changing point and it could offer many other interesting functions. Another aim of "Railway Muzeum of Ostrava" was connect past and present by a placement of historic trains next to commonly used trains. Glassed facade of the museum building highlights this concept and shows the trains to the schema_dspacedb.
