Abstract

This diploma thesis concerns the description of the production of ball graphite cast iron. The topic is very wide to be able to describe all aspects of the issue, therefore the whole work is focused on most important production processes during the production of given material. The theoretical part concerns the process of vaccination, modification and influence of alloyed elements on the structure and mechanical properties. At the end of theoretical part is all process of the production of ball graphite cast iron described by the flowchart diagram. Experimental part is devided into two parts. In the first part is characterized specific influence of primary elements on the structure and mechanical properties of the ball graphite cast iron. In the second part is with the help of mechanical testing and metallographic analysis described the ability of copper to fundamentally influence the properties of ball graphite cast iron with regards to its content in the metal.
