HERASYMCHUK, Valeriia. Application of BIM methodology in the reconstruction of existing buildings. Ostrava, 2026, 58 p. Master’s thesis. VŠB – Technical University of Ostrava, Faculty of Civil Engineering, Department of Urban Engineering. Supervisor: Ing. arch. Dagmar Kutá, Ph.D., MSc., MBA. The subject of this master’s thesis is the development of a methodology for the reconstruction of existing buildings. The thesis focuses on the evaluation of existing documentation, the creation of a building information model, and the identification and assessment of success criteria for the BIM methodology. Furthermore, the process of traditional reconstruction is described, including methods of surveying the existing building and determining accurate dimensions. The aim of the thesis is to establish procedures for reconstruction using BIM technologies, define evaluation criteria, and subsequently assess them. Based on this evaluation, the overall benefits of applying BIM methodology in building reconstruction are determined.
