Abstract
Diploma thesis examines the activation energy in hot forming of iron aluminide
Fe-40Al+TiB2. Axially symmetric compression tests were performed in the temperature range 800 – 1200 °C and strain rate of 0,05 – 30 s-1 using the Gleeble plastometer. The activation energy was calculated using the ENERGY 4.0 software. Mathematical processing of experimental data yielded in piece of knowledge that the real strain rate for a specified type of testing may differ quite significantly from the nominal strain rate. The values of activation energy as well as mathematical description of peak stress and strain of the examined material, depending on the temperature compensated strain rate, showed that the obtained results were very similar in the case of application of the nominal, immediate and mean strain rate.
