Městská policie v systému prevence kriminality

Abstract

The bachelor thesis examines the role of the municipal police in the system crime prevention in the city of Karviná. The theoretical part deals with the basic concepts related to crime prevention, the structure of crime prevention, levels of crime prevention, the organisation of crime prevention in the Czech Republic and crime prevention strategies. It also focuses on the demographic and geographical characteristics of the city of Karviná and describes in detail the functioning of the municipal police in this locality. In the practical part of the thesis, a quantitative method of public opinion research using a questionnaire survey was used and a guided interview with a crime prevention officer of the Karviná City Police was conducted. Furthermore, a SWOT analysis was conducted to identify the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats associated with crime prevention in the city. Based on these analyses, specific measures and recommendations were proposed to address the identified problems and challenges in the area of crime prevention in the city of Karviná.
