Abstract

Issue of the bachelor thesis is detection the impact of optical splices for measuring Brillouin frequency with using the DTS system. Using Brillouin frequency is possible to calculate temperature along optical fiber. Measure is testing, if different optical splices have some impact on Brillouin frequency in areas in front of optical splice relative to areas behind optical splice. Researched couplings are selected on basis prevalence in the industry and also for their transmision characteristics of the optical signal. Achieved results are processed in the form of graphs describing various measurement phases of connector and then a graphic comparing the averaged results of all individual optical splices. Source DTS readings generated by the system are included in the annexes of this thesis.
