Abstract
The topic of the bachelor thesis is the design of a battery pack for an electric go-kart. The aim was to model a suitable design to meet certain requirements such as heat dissipation and elimination of the force generated by side impact.
In the first part of the bachelor thesis, the design of a battery pack for an electric go-kart is proposed. At the same time, the design of the structure and arrangement of the battery pack was carried out to meet the required parameters. The BMS unit which takes care of the protection and charging of the batteries was also discussed.
The practical part deals with the arrangement of each battery to achieve the highest voltage allowed by the inverter and the motor. After measuring the assembled battery part, it was modelled in SolidWorks to insert the battery pack on the side frame of the electric go-kart. Attention was paid to the safety features of the battery pack itself, due to the dangers caused by spontaneous heat generation and the risk of impact. With these individual steps, it was possible to create a complex design of the battery pack for the subsequent connection of the electric go-kart.
