Abstract

This bachelor thesis focuses on assessing the competitiveness of PKP CARGO INTERNATIONAL a.s., one of the key entities in the field of rail freight transport in Central Europe. The theoretical part introduces selected strategic tools – PEST analysis, benchmarking, impact matrix, and financial analysis. These tools are subsequently applied in the practical part of the thesis to evaluate the internal and external environment of the company in comparison with its main competitor, ČD Cargo, a.s. The aim of the thesis is to identify competitive advantages, assess the company’s market position, and propose recommendations to strengthen its long-term competitiveness and strategic development.
