Abstract

In the thesis is verified the influence of mechanical activation on the final parameters of alkali-activated granulated blast furnace slag. Mechanical activation was done in a vibration mill and a drum mill. During of grinding in both types of mills have changed operational parameters of grinding. The expected result was simillar milled granulated blast furnace slag as in industry and comparing final properties. By the grinded samples was determined by specific surface and granulometry, which was analyzed by laser scanning confocal microscope. Furthermore, the samples were alkali-activated by sodium water glass. By the samples was determined bulk density and compressive strength after 2, 7 and 28 days hydration. After 28 days was stopped hydration by sample and was made differential thermal analysis, thermogravimetry and X-ray diffraction analysis. The tests proved that all the methods of milling and types of milling equipment are suitable for modification of granulated blast furnace slag. Analyses showed that grinding of granulated blast furnace slag in a vibration mill adn drum mill are comparable to commercially grinded slag.
