Abstract
The thesis deals with the importance of employees’ motivation in business strategy implementation. It is focused in detail on the employees’ motivation of the given company’s department, which directly affects one of the company's strategic initiatives in the form of centralization of the department and its activities into one location. High demands and performance are expected from the employees in connection with the implementation of the strategic initiative. The subordinates should be supported by the superiors of the centralized department, who should make appropriate use of the incentive system of the organization in order to achieve the desired strategic plan outcome.
The thesis is focused on the identification of the factors regarding employees’ motivation, which directly affects the company's strategic initiative through the centralized department. The comparison of the motivation factors which are defined by the ordinary employees with the ones which are considered the most crucial by the subordinates. Employees knowledge examination in the filed of company organisation in relation to the activities at the department. Identification of the employees spheres of interest which are seen as the most essential. The SWOT analyses is used in order to identify the possible problematic areas of the employees’ motivation with regard to the implementation of the company strategic initiative.
The selected employees of the department have taken part in filling in the questionnaires, which were used to find out the motivation factors, strategy knowledge and the proposals for the department improvement. Pareto analysis is applied in order to evaluate the key areas for further development of the given department. The areas which need improving such as communication, feedback, problem-solving efficiency, performance remuneration, openness to creativity and innovation, workload, opportunities for further career development and opportunity in the field of education are identified with the help of the chosen methods. In the final part of the thesis, the suggestions and recommendations for the areas, which are evaluated as suitable for improvement are carried out in regard with the survey.
The starting point is the theoretical framework described in the second chapter of the thesis, together with its recommendations, which reflect not only the best practices described in the literature, but also the nature and culture of the analyzed society.
