Abstract

This thesis is focused on the issues of the administration of the municipalities in the Slovak Republic, with the example of the municipality of Staškov. The thesis is divided into two parts, the theoretical one and the practical one. The theoretical part explains the main features of the local administration, with the orientation on the municipalities and the settlement structure in the Slovak Republic. The practical part concentrates on the evaluation of the administration of the municipality of Staškov and its socioeconomic situation. The conclusion of the thesis includes practical recommendations for efficiency improvement and the rationalization of the administration of the municipality of Staškov.
