Abstract

The subject of this diploma thesis is an impact of foreign direct investments on economic development of less developed countries. Foreign direct investment influences the host country’s economic growth through the transfer of new technologies and know-how, integration in global markets or increase of competition. The aim of this diploma thesis is to find out the influence of foreign direct investment on economic development of developing countries during the period from 2001 to 2011. The diploma thesis in three chapters describe the theoretical background of foreign direct investment and economic development, empirical studies on foreign direct investment and its impact on economic development of developing countries and regression analysis of foreign direct investment on economic development, depending on political stability of less developed countries.
