Abstract
The research in the field of structures exposed to fire has an important place among
the up to date topics of engineering science. Structures under fire loading may be
exposed apart from mechanical loading also to high temperature. The main reason
for the research in this branch is to gain prediction of structural behavior according
to fire scenario to prevent accidents and human loss. Steel exposed to high temperature
loses its strength and stiffness. There is a possibility of using fire protection
to slow down increasing temperature of material. Fire resistance of unprotected
sections is rather low and depends on dimensions of the used elements. Comparison
of computational results with the reality is of great importance today. In this
work some experimental testing to analyze behavior of steel frame structures under
fire loading including solution of thermal analysis is conducted. The results of
experimental testing are analyzed and compared with numerical modeling and also
analytical solutions. Achievements related to problems of steel structure behavior
during fire are summarized in this work and conclusions and recommendations for
next development of this field are formulated.
