Abstract

The diploma thesis deals with the optimization of expedition and storage processes in the expedition warehouse of metallurgical enterprise ArcelorMittal Ostrava a.s. The aim of this thesis is to elaborate proposals of measures for elimination of bottlenecks in the management process of expedition of finished products of medium-section rolling mill through road vehicles. The theoretical part describes the general theoretical basis from the fields of transport, warehousing and lean production. The practical part analyses current state and identifies bottlenecks of expedition process. The analysis is based on the measurement of processes, analysis of historical data, observation and questioning of workers. The results of the thesis are proposals and recommendations for streamlining of the expedition process and eliminating bottlenecks.
