Abstract
The aim of my Graduation thesis was to find out which indicators effect households in the Czech Republic to increase their gross income and to re-enter to the labour market from unemployment.
I used the descriptive method to describe the tax and social system in the Czech Republic and to determine model households, model situations and modal dates. I applied the analytic method too; it is based on the marginal effective tax rate.
On the basis of analyses it is clear that high net income households hold lower marginal effective tax rate, it means that they are more motivated to increase their gross income. On the contrary, low net income households hold higher marginal effective tax rate, it means they are not motivated to increase their gross income. The analysis proves that the amount of children and the total gross income could influence motivation to increase the gross wage and consequently motivation to re-enter the labour market from the unemployment. The lower total gross income households and the higher number of children they have, the lower motivation to increase the gross income and the lower motivation to re-enter the labour market from the unemployment, and vice versa.
Motivation might be increased by much better systematically organized social systems and a better connection of tax and social systems.
