Abstract
Coke is a very important raw material for the vast majority of metallurgical processes . For the production of pig iron in a blast furnaces is still indispensable. Coke is produced in coke oven batteries from a blend appropriate types of coal, prescribed quality, prepared for the proces carbonization of coal. Carbonization of coal is the process of heating coal at high temperatures 1000-1100 ° C without air. Coke oven gas is released in corventing coal to coke. The Coke oven gas is very calorific contains many useful chemicals for further use. For other uses actual coke oven gas the gas has to be cleaned from the toxic substances contained in it . One of these substances is the " crude phenol-ammonia water" . This water must be from coke oven gas before further use to remove. The crude phenol-ammonia water contains besides mechanical impurities found high levels of chemicals such as tar, ammonia , phenols, cyanides , aldehydes, cresols , hydrogen sulfide , polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons and more. From a high content of toxic substances in the water suggest that this water is necessary to get rid of these substances , to allow the treated water from the coking discharged into rivers, lakes , or municipal sewerage systems .
