Abstract

Community service is seen as an instrument of active employment policy, which focuses on long-term unemployed. This is the last chance to keep the morale of these people. The aim of this work is to clarify the nature of the operation of community service in selected countries, focusing on the Czech Republic. The work deals with definitions and theories of employment policy, access to employment policy, its structure and effects that this policy brings. The entire work is focused on community service in each country. Diplom work is dividend into four main sections. The first part focuses on the theoretical context of employment policy. The second part analyzes public works in selected countries. The third part focuses on community service in the Czech Republic and their impact on the labor market. The last section focuses on recommendations for community service in the Czech Republic.
