Abstract

The diploma thesis deals with the study of population protection and the proposal to increase the level of selected measures of population protection downstream of Slezská Harta dam against dam flood. The thesis is divided into 5 parts. The first part explains the concepts that need to be understood for understanding the text and understanding the issue. The second part explains the issue of dam, their safety and accidents in general. The third part describes the characteristics, technical data, safety and accident of Slezská Harta dam. The fourth part describes and evaluates the current state of protection of the population downstream of this dam. The final part is the most important part of the thesis and contains proposals for increasing the level of selected measures of population protection with a brief explanation.
